1. Talk to your admissions advisor about which AFS national, regional, and/ or local scholarships you would be eligible.
2. Check out the AFS-USA Website (Scholarships & Schools) for the latest updated information
3. Check with community groups, your school, church, and companies where family members work to see about available funds and to get information about applying.
4. Once you know what country you are going to, identify local and regional clubs or groups associated with that country, and then approach the organization to see if they offer scholarships.
5. Apply early, and apply for lots of them!

  • Time required: Depends on the number of scholarships for which you apply.
  • Amount you can expect to raise: $250- $10,000
